Job Summary

Organizes coordinates and performs clerical and administrative functions following established standards in support of the Academic Affairs department in the College of Dentistry.

Duties:

  • Assumes day-to-day responsibility for organizing and coordinating specialized clerical functions in support of Academic Affairs.
  • Answers questions provides information and handles complaints for internal and external customers.
  • Updates office procedures for a more efficient operation when necessary.
  • Assists with preparation of agendas minutes and scheduling of committee meetings.
  • Approves departmental expenditures within predetermined guidelines
  • Reviews billing from contractors and vendors adjusts as needed.
  • Establishes and maintains filing systems including confidential documents.
  • Assists with implementation. training and supporting of new computer applications (Canvas Simple Syllabus Top Hat etc.)
  • Coordinates departmental processes and maintains Peoplesoft data integrity
  • Plans and coordinates special projects.
  • Schedules departmental meetings appointments and makes travel arrangements
  • Collects and disseminates information for internal and external customers
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required education:High School Diploma or GED AND:

  • 12 months office clerical or administrative experience.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook Excel and Word)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to complete tasks in an efficient and timely manner
  • Ability to multitask and self-motivated
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Advanced computer skills with wide knowledge of business software
  • Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
