The University of Wollongong (UOW) invites applications from dedicated and community-minded individuals for the role of Indigenous Future Student Program Coordinator. This position provides a meaningful opportunity to contribute to long-term change by supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander high school students on their journey to higher education.

This is an identified position open only to applicants of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent in accordance with relevant anti-discrimination legislation.

As the Indigenous Future Student Program Coordinator you will be responsible for developing delivering and evaluating a wide range of programs that engage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students schools and communities. Your work will focus on raising aspirations strengthening access to university and supporting a culturally empowering transition into higher education.

You will lead school and community engagement activities both on-campus and through outreach while supporting the delivery of UOWs Indigenous Admissions Program. Working closely with the Future Student and Student Success teams at the Woolyungah Indigenous Centre (WIC) youll help shape communication strategies build relationships with key stakeholders run recruitment events and create content that promotes student engagement.

A key part of the role includes mentoring a team of Indigenous Student Ambassadors overseeing their recruitment training and coordination to ensure successful program delivery throughout the year.

To thrive in this position youll bring strong cultural knowledge experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and a background in educational outreach. Youll be confident working independently managing competing priorities and communicating effectively with schools families and community organisations. A relevant degree or equivalent experience is required along with strong organisational and digital skills.

This position is not suitable for remote work in accordance with the UOW Remote Working Guidelines.

*Continuing Contingent: Refer to section 21 of the University of Wollongong (Academic Staff) Enterprise Agreement 2023: This position forms part of an external funding agreement. Should funding cease and not be renewed the continuing appointment may be terminated on the basis of the contingency.
