Synopsis: The Workflow Automation Specialist will be responsible for designing developing and maintaining automation tools and AI-driven solutions to simplify and streamline administrative tasks across Fieldstones internal teams. This role combines software development skills with a strong understanding of process improvement ensuring that repetitive manual or time-consuming activities are optimized through automation.
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Process Analysis & Automation Design
- Collaborate with internal teams to assess workflows identify automation opportunities and translate operational requirements into effective scalable solutions.
- Design and implement streamlined automations using no-code/low-code platforms (e.g. Power Automate Smartsheet) to reduce manual administrative workload.
- Integrate automation tools with internal systems (e.g. HRIS Cortex Smartsheet Deltek etc.) to enhance data flow and process efficiency.
- Maintenance & Optimization
- Maintain and refine existing automations ensuring reliability scalability and alignment with evolving business needs.
- Monitor automation performance gather user feedback and iterate on solutions to improve efficiency and user experience.
- AI-Enhanced Solutions
- Leverage accessible AI features within no-code platforms (e.g. natural language processing in Power Automate or integrated AI tools) to support tasks like document handling reporting and communication.
- Develop prototypes and proof-of-concept automations to test and demonstrate new process improvement opportunities.
- Collaboration & Training
- Partner with HR Finance Operations and other departments to understand pain points and deliver tailored automation solutions.
- Provide training documentation and ongoing support to ensure teams can effectively adopt and utilize automation tools.
- Work with IT to facilitate secure integrations with existing systems and databases.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering Data Science or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 35 years of experience in business operations process improvement or automation roles with a focus on no-code/low-code implementations.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in no-code/low-code automation platforms (e.g. Power Automate Smartsheet Zapier UiPath).
* Familiarity with workflow design API integrations and basic data pipelines.
* Experience with AI-enhanced features in automation tools (e.g. OpenAI integrations or similar) is a plus.
* Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure AWS or GCP) for workflow hosting is advantageous.
