Carilion Clinic is reimagining cancer care for our region and beyond. We are seeking an additional full-time Pediatric Hematologist Oncologist to join Carilion Clinics Pediatric Hematology Oncology and Palliative Care Service at Carilion Childrens located in Roanoke Virginia as we elevate comprehensive patient centered oncology care at Carilion Clinic and the new Carilion Taubman Cancer Center opening in 2027.
This is a great opportunity to join an established clinic-based academic practice to provide Pediatric Hematology and Oncology services as part of the only tertiary center in southwest Virginia. Training or interest in Neuro-oncology and/or Sickle Cell is desired to support our growing Pediatric Neurosurgery programs.
With an integrated multidisciplinary approach to childrens cancer treatment and access to Carilions subspecialty areas our pediatric patients benefit from the combined expertise of a team of closely coordinated caregivers. Opportunity includes teaching medical students and pediatric residents. Additional clinical research opportunities available through Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and Fralin Biomedical Research Institute. This position includes a faculty appointment with Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine based in Roanoke Virginia.
Carilion Clinic Childrens Hospital part of Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital is a full member of the Childrens Oncology Group and serves as the tertiary referral center for over 185000 children across a wide span of southwest Virginia. Our full-service 92-bed Childrens Hospital provides intensive care to neonatal pediatric and adolescent patients and houses the second largest neonatal intensive care unit in Virginia and the only pediatric intensive care dedicated pediatric unit and pediatric level 1 trauma center in southwest Virginia. Carilion Childrens Hospital consists of an 8-bed PICU a 24-bed inpatient unit and a 60-bed NICU/intermediate nursery and provides a full range of critical care services including a Pediatric Level 1 Trauma Center but excluding ECMO open heart and transplants. Pediatric expertise and support are available in most subspecialties to include hospitalist and critical care medicine neonatology cardiology endocrinology allergy/immunology gastroenterology pulmonology neurology general neurosurgery orthopedics urology otolaryngology psychiatry behavioral health and developmental pediatrics.

Graduating fellows are welcome to apply. Must be ABMS/AOA Board Certified Pediatrics and BC/BE Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist.
Candidates must have excellent clinical experience proven academic interest and enthusiasm for education and teaching of fellows residents and students.
