About the Role
Were looking for a hands-on Senior Data Engineer who thrives on building. This role goes beyond designing architecturewe need someone excited to tackle real-world data problems engineer robust pipelines and optimize how data flows across systems.
Youll be at the core of our AI and analytics strategy helping to build the data foundation that powers our Measurement & Verification (M&V) tools product analytics and smart building optimization efforts. From scraping utility websites to feeding machine learning models and dashboards youll be integral to developing our Data Lake and MCP platform.

What Youll Do
Engineer production-grade data pipelines (batch & real-time) to move and transform data between diverse systems
Build custom ingestion solutions including web scrapers loaders and automation routines for utility weather and building data
Design and maintain integrations with internal APIs third-party sources and cloud storage
Partner with Data Scientists Product Managers and M&V Analysts to make data useful actionable and accessible
Develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for AI model training alerting reporting and analytics use cases
Support the ongoing development of our AI-ready Data Lake ensuring data integrity and quality
Drive performance reliability and observability into pipelines using Airflow dbt and AWS-native services
Maintain a builder mindsetyoull be writing code more than drawing diagrams
What Were Looking For
5 years of experience building data pipelines and automation tools in production environments
Proficiency in Python SQL and data manipulation libraries (pandas pyarrow etc.)
Experience with web scraping frameworks (e.g. Puppeteer Playwright BeautifulSoup)
Hands-on experience with AWS cloud-native stacks (S3 ECS Lambda Glue Athena Redshift)
Strong grasp of APIs data formats (JSON XML) and integration patterns
Skilled in data modeling version control containerized workflows (Docker) and orchestration tools (Airflow)
Passion for delivering high-quality production-ready code in collaborative environments
Experience with energy data utility billing or IoT sensor feeds
Familiarity with machine learning pipelines time-series analytics or anomaly detection
Experience with CI/CD pipelines IaC (Terraform) observability tools
Background in DataOps or data quality/validation frameworks
