Carilion Clinic and the Department of Surgery Section of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery in Roanoke Virginia are searching for a fellowship trained pediatric otolaryngologist to join our growing team of nine otolaryngologists seven advanced care practitioners four audiologists and one hearing instrument specialist in a clinic-based academic program with remarkable opportunities in teaching research and clinical otolaryngology. Carilion Childrens Hospital located within Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital a 763- bed teaching/tertiary care center serves as the tertiary referral center for 185000 children in southwest Virginia and provides a full range of pediatric services including Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center an 8-bed PICU a 27-bed inpatient unit a 60-bed NICU/intermediate nursing unit and a 27 bed Pediatric Emergency Department. Ground and air transportation services are provided by a pediatric critical care transport team.
Our otolaryngology section provides comprehensive coverage to over one million people in a large rural multi-state area and several other Carilion hospitals and operates clinics in satellite locations in the region as well Clinical pathology is exceptionally broad and our otolaryngologists perform the full breadth of procedures of all levels of complexity.
A physician-led multi-specialty not-for-profit healthcare organization based in Roanoke VA Carilion Clinic operates 7 hospitals 282 outpatient clinics 788 physicians representing more than 75 specialties along with 350 residents and fellows in 29 accredited ACGME programs. Education and research activities and opportunities abound through our relationships with the Virginia Tech Carillon SOM the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC Virginia Tech and Radford University. We are actively involved in the education of medical students residents from multiple CC-VTC and outside training programs allied health and VT undergraduate/graduate students. We currently provide clinical training for senior residents from the otolaryngology residency at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth and our own plastic and general surgery residents with the goal of establishing our own residency program in the near future. The position requires an academic appointment at VTCSOM.

MD/DO Board Certification/Eligible in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery
Fellowship Training in Pediatric Otolaryngology
Evidence of strong communication and interpersonal skills
