Job Title: PLM Technical Architect
Reports To: PLM Development Manager
Role Type: Individual Contribution
Location: Bangalore
Role Purpose:
The PLM Team part of Product Development Solutions under Digital Engineering and Innovation (DEI) plays a key role in establishing the SKF Vision A world of reliable rotation by supporting the SKF Business Community in the management of the Technical Product Information in the full value chain. As part of the PLM team the Development solutions team is accountable for developing and maintaining the overall PLM Architecture including integration to key SKF Enterprise addition this team is also responsible for defining technology roadmaps based on the PLM Strategy and ensure new capabilities and solutions are built accordingly.
The PLM Technical Architect is a key position in the PLM Solution Development Team. The role of this person is to understand the business objectives together with stakeholders and translate it to technical solutions. The person understands how technology supports business operations and how this contributes to their critical success factors and OKRs.
This position will work in close relationships with the internal stakeholders be part of workshops to identify new opportunities capture their requirements support the creation of business cases evaluate risks and transfers this to technical specifications which can be realized with internal development teams and with external partners.
Key Responsibilities
Translates business needs into functional technical requirements
Understanding the overall architectural PLM offerings including architectural overviews integrations and whole solutions
Design PLM solutions typically involve Windchill PDMLink Creo Parametric and other SKF Enterprise systems such as ERP and MES.
Define architectural models around PLM fundamentals and PLM strategy
Create and handover solutions document to the development teams (internal SKF and/ IT suppliers) and ensure successful implementation of proposed solutions
Continuously discover evaluate and implement new technologies within the PLM area; make recommendations for system enhancements modifications and functionalities
Build new system configuration customization/development to aid current and future requirements for PLM
Drive best practices and methodologies during major rollouts to the existing PLM environment
Key Skill & Knowledge Profile:
Proven experience of defining solutions and implementing Windchill PDMLink and Creo Parametric
In-depth knowledge and working experience with core PLM Modules (Part/BOM management CAD management ECM management Options and Variant mgmt.)
Strong exposure to PLM Data model architecture preferably Windchill
Programming knowledge of Java JSP HTML and XML is mandatory
Knowledge of PTC Thingworx and python programming is an added advantage
Ability to convert business needs into tangible solutions
Good understanding of IT domain: software software development hardware
network databases; Know-How of PLM and ERP Systems
Able to work in an Agile team environment
Knowledge on Design processes Application Engineering process Sales process is preferred
Candidate Profile:
Masters or bachelors degree in mechanical or computer engineering stream
7-10 Years of relevant functional work experience. At least 3 Years experience in leading PLM solutions development
Highly motivated & self-initiator to achieve planned results & business objectives
Must have good communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a matrix organization setup; and
Ability to work in a volatile uncertain complex & ambiguous (VUCA) environment.
Ability to stand up to propose and defend technical solutions with short- and long-term views
Be recognized as an Architect where new technologies and architectural models are introduced around PLM Strategy
