What will I be doing
As Commercial Manager you will develop commercial strategies covering all segments and channels to maximise total revenue and profit performancesas well as market share penetration. This role will assist in planning and executing the commercial strategy and activity through supporting the Revenue Management team Sales Catering and Events Marketing eCommerce and Public Relations teams. The Commercial Manager role is key to seize new opportunities through strong customer relations and works as an Ambassador for the Hotel with our key stakeholders
As the Commercial Manager you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
Develop new customer accounts and travel within the local area to drive business into the hotel to increase market/customer share in all revenue streams.
Maintain existing stakeholder relationships and grow existing customer accounts throughbuilding relationships with key contacts monitoring key account productivity and cross selling the group at all opportunities.
Conduct sales promotion trips to target markets.
Maintain good rapport and communication in the marketplace locally and nationally.
What are we looking for

Essential
Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate with a number of stakeholders.
Experience and exposure in sales/ marketing environment.
Excellent selling capability and techniques with an ability and desire to coach selling techniques to the team.
Strong analytical skills to understand key business indicator and competitive trends and develop approaches to these challenges.
Excellent sales skills both reactive and proactive with clear evidence of being able to close a sale with proven experience in similar role.
Strong leadership skills with evidence that you can effectively manage and motivate a team to perform and aim to exceed high expectations.
Experience of strong commercial acumen which will enable you to understand key business indicators competitive trends and to develop a strategic approach to challenges that occur.
Understanding of market share and REVPAR targets.
Effective organisational and planning skills with a clear eye for detail.
Agility and flexibility to respond to a range of different situations.
Ability to work well in a high pressure results driven environment under your own initiative.
Ability to present information statistics and strategy related actions to team members and business stakeholders.
A working knowledge of accommodation and the conference and events business both in terms of how to acquire business and delivering the expectations of such clients.
Desirable
Knowledge of the local market and national opportunity for this location.
A passion and flair for sales and working towards targets and being able to motivate a team to work with the same mentality.
This role would suit a person who has a strong knowledge of sales preferably within a branded property.
