Job Description
The Civil CAD Technician position will perform drafting and modelling services for various construction projects as directed by the Survey Manager along with other drafting needs as may be required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Generate the data from the field survey technician from various surveying activities
- Prepare Utility AsBuilt Surveys using field survey data
- Prepare Topographic Survey drawings using field survey data
- Prepare Finish Surface Models and SubGrade Surface Models
- Prepare cut/fill sheets based on the Topographic Surveys and SubGrade Surface Models
- Prepare dirt and material volume reports
- Prepare construction staking data for layout of utilities curbs walks etc.
- Background in Civil Engineering or Land Surveying not required but is helpful.
- Certificate from technical school for Computer Aided Design & Drafting not required but helpful;
- Or 2 years of experience in the field of Civil Engineering and/or Land Surveying using AutoCAD Carlson Civil/Survey Civil 3D or other civil engineering-based CAD program;
- Or any combination of the above mentioned in such that shows a thorough knowledge of basic CAD drafting and the understanding of Civil Construction plans
- Microsoft Office products such as Word Excel Power Point Outlook etc.
- AutoCAD
- Carlson Civil Survey and/or Take-off software (preferred or willing to learn)
- Machine Grade Control software is a plus but not necessary
