Job Description

At STERIS we help our Customers create a healthier and safer world by providing innovative healthcare and life science product and service solutions around the globe.

Position Summary

Completes set up and Operates both manual and CNC equipment for the efficient production of quality components. Responsible for the production of high-tolerance precision parts.

This is a day shift position in a climate controlled facility. Tuesday-Friday 10 hour shifts.

What Youll Do As a CNC Machinist II

  • Interpret technical prints.
  • Must have knowledge of CNC machine G-Code and trouleshotting skills to identify and communicate program improvements to programmers.
  • Setup operate and adjust machining equipment for production efficiency without supervision.
  • Monitors quality of parts produced to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Abides by all Company safety and health policies and procedures.
  • Must use personal protective equipment if required.
  • Aware of and conforms to company ISO goals and objectives and supports company ISO requirements.
  • Aware of and actively participates in companys Lean philosophy of continuous improvement.
  • Ensures measuring devices used to check product quality are calibrated prior to use.
  • Maintains in-process product procedure for handling nonconforming parts

The Experience Skills and Abilities Needed

Required:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum three (3) to five (5) years CNC machining experience in lieu of a technical/vocational degree.
Minimum two (2) to four (4) years CNC machining experience with a vocational degree in Machine/Tool Technology or related field
Demonstrated CNC set up experience
CAM software reading experience
Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings
Experience running multiple types of machines

Preferred:

Technical/Vocational degree in a related field
Data entry system experience
