Job Summary: The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation repair and maintenance of the hotels facilities including guest rooms public areas and hotel equipment. This role involves performing routine maintenance tasks troubleshooting mechanical electrical plumbing and HVAC issues and responding to emergency repair requests. The Maintenance Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the safety comfort and satisfaction of guests through effective maintenance services. Key Responsibilities: - Routine Maintenance and Repairs:
- Perform routine inspections of hotel facilities including guest rooms public areas HVAC systems plumbing electrical systems and equipment.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and repairs on hotel infrastructure such as air conditioning heating systems elevators lighting plumbing electrical outlets and appliances.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from hotel staff or guests ensuring that repairs are completed in a timely manner.
- Perform regular checks and testing on equipment to ensure it is in proper working condition.
- Guest Room and Public Area Maintenance:
- Ensure that guest rooms hallways lobbies and public spaces are well-maintained and in good working order.
- Repair or replace malfunctioning equipment or furnishings in guest rooms such as light fixtures furniture and appliances.
- Troubleshoot and resolve plumbing or electrical issues reported by guests or staff.
- Troubleshooting and Emergency Repairs:
- Respond to emergency maintenance calls and address urgent repair issues promptly such as water leaks power outages or HVAC failures.
- Work to minimize guest inconvenience by quickly resolving problems and ensuring safety protocols are followed during repair work.
- Maintain a log of all emergency repairs and completed maintenance tasks.
- Facility Upkeep:
- Assist in the upkeep of hotel facilities including outdoor areas parking lots and grounds by maintaining equipment and addressing any issues that may arise.
- Perform painting carpentry and other repairs to maintain the hotels aesthetic appeal and functionality.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with hotel safety health and environmental regulations.
- Follow proper procedures for handling and disposing of hazardous materials including cleaning chemicals and waste products.
- Adhere to hotel safety protocols and ensure the safe operation of tools and equipment.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor and manage maintenance supplies and parts inventory.
- Report any shortages or requirements for new tools or equipment to the Chief Engineer or Maintenance Manager.
- Assist in ordering and restocking maintenance supplies as needed.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Communicate effectively with hotel management front desk staff and other departments regarding ongoing or urgent maintenance issues.
- Work closely with the housekeeping department to address any maintenance concerns in guest rooms or public areas.
- Keep accurate records of all maintenance tasks repairs and inspections performed.
Qualifications: - Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Formal technical training or certification in building maintenance electrical systems plumbing HVAC or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in a maintenance role in a hotel building or facilities management environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of basic mechanical electrical and plumbing systems.
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to operate and maintain various types of maintenance tools and equipment.
- Familiarity with hotel facilities and equipment maintenance.
- Basic knowledge of safety protocols and standards.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment tools or materials.
