Urgent care sometimes known as walk-in care fast care or express care is a convenient option for patients 18 months and older who require timely medical care but the situation is not an emergency. Because patients typically come to us when they arent feeling their best it is incredibly important to us that our staff members strive to provide the compassion and emotional support our patients need.
We are seeking a Per-Diem Radiologic Technologist to join our Urgent Care team! This Rad Tech will primarily support our Urgent Care center located at 107 University Drive Amherst MA.

Summary
Responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. You will operate radiographic equipment position patients and capture high-quality images for interpretation by radiologists or other healthcare providers.

Essential Functions
-Perform various diagnostic imaging procedures including X-rays CT scans MRIs and other radiographic examinations as ordered by physicians or other healthcare providers.
-Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
-Explain the procedure answer questions and address concerns to help alleviate patient anxiety.
-Operate and adjust imaging equipment including X-ray machines CT scanners MRI scanners and related accessories.
-Follow established protocols and ensure proper positioning and settings for optimal image quality.
-Capture high-quality images and review them to ensure technical quality proper positioning and adequate exposure.
-Recognize and troubleshoot technical issues to produce accurate and diagnostic images.
-Follow radiation safety protocols and guidelines to minimize patient and staff exposure to ionizing radiation.
-Use lead aprons shields and other protective devices as appropriate.
-Monitor radiation dosage and equipment performance to maintain safety standards.
-Maintain accurate and complete records of patient information procedures performed and related documentation.
-Use electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other computerized tools for data entry and retrieval.

Associates Degree Radiologic Technology required

Radiologic Technologist and Technician State License - required
Registered Technologist R.T.(ARRT) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred
Basic Life Support BLS Certification - preferred
Experience
Experience in radiology technology 1-2 years required
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of radiographic techniques equipment operation and patient positioning.
- Familiarity with imaging procedures and protocols including X-rays CT scans and MRIs.
- Proficiency in using radiographic equipment and associated software.
- Strong understanding of radiation safety principles and protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and protocols accurately.
