Are you passionate about empowering individuals to secure affordable health coverage Join our team as a Pennie Enrollment Specialist (Health Insurance Assister) - where youll guide community members through the Pennsylvania health insurance marketplace (Pennie) and help them make informed enrollment decisions. Your work will ensure families in Southwest Pennsylvania gain access to care financial protection and peace of mind.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PENNIE ENROLLMENT SPECIALIST

Picture yourself as the trusted resource for health insurance enrollment in your community. Youll:

  • Assist individuals and families with Pennie applications eligibility determinations and plan selections.

  • Provide one-on-one enrollment support ensuring clients understand benefits costs and coverage options.

  • Host and staff enrollment events health fairs and community sessions to increase Pennie awareness and participation.

  • Build relationships with local organizations to expand outreach and streamline referral pipelines.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting to demonstrate enrollment outcomes and impact across the 10-county region.

WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR:

Education & Experience:

Minimum 2 years of experience with health plan enrollment through Pennie and/or MA/CHIP programs Degree in social work public health or healthcare-related field (or equivalent relevant experience) or equivalent combination of experience and education Expertise in eligibility determination enrollment processes and user assistance

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of health insurance concepts (premiums deductibles subsidies provider networks).
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to explain complex coverage details in simple terms.
  • Comfortable hosting enrollment events and providing both in-person and virtual assistance.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel).
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel regularly across the region.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English capabilities
  • Experience working with diverse communities and populations
