Job Summary:
This position is for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in a tertiary care hospitals medical-surgical unit. The LPN will provide nursing care under the supervision of an RN manage their own patient assignments and collaborate with the healthcare team. Every other weekend work is required.

Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care to patients on a medical-surgical unit.
- Manage own patient assignments with RN support.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report changes in condition.
- Document patient care accurately and completely.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Participate in patient education and discharge planning.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Current LPN license in New York.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent hospital experience.
- Ability to manage own patient assignments.
- Current BLS certification (Basic Life Support).
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience in emergency or critical care.
- Proficiency with ventilators tracheostomies and PICC lines.
Special Considerations:
- Every other weekend work is required.
- 3 twelve-hour day shifts per week.
- Work in a fast-paced tertiary care hospital environment (528 beds).
- Charting using Epic.
Scheduling:
- Three 12-hour day shifts per week.
- Every other weekend rotation.
