Job Summary:
This role is for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct patient care in a medical-surgical unit within a tertiary care hospital. The LPN will manage their own patient assignments under the supervision of an RN contributing to the overall care and well-being of patients. Experience in a hospital setting within the last two years is required.

Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care as assigned under the supervision of an RN.
- Manage own patient assignments.
- Gather and report patient data.
- Carry out physician orders and perform therapeutic procedures.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Participate in patient care planning and implementation.
- Document patient care accurately and completely.
- Adhere to hospital policies procedures and guidelines.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Current LPN license in New York.
- Minimum of one year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience (preferred but not required).
- Current BLS certification.
- Ability to work every other weekend.
- Hospital experience within the last 2 years.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience in emergency or critical care environments.
- Proficiency with ventilators tracheostomies and PICC lines.
- Two years of experience in direct patient care.
Special Considerations:
- This is a 3x12-hour day shift position.
- Every other weekend work is required.
- The work environment is a busy medical-surgical unit in a tertiary care hospital.
Scheduling:
- Three 12-hour day shifts per week.
- Every other weekend rotation.
