The Opportunity
The Senior Engineer Travel Integrations will be a critical member of our strategy responsible for architecting designing and leading the development of sophisticated integration solutions to support Flywires Travel vertical. This role demands deep technical expertise strategic thinking and excellent leadership skills to guide complex projects from conception through execution. This role will partner directly with the Senior Product Manager for integrations. This is an opportunity to tackle challenging problems and develop technologically elegant solutions that scale to serve millions of users.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and deployment of high-impact integrations with leading Property Management Systems and hotel Customer Relationship Management systems
- Lead the development and deployment of a developer platform that enables partners to programmatically build integrations inside the Flywire Travel platform.
- Master AI tooling to accelerate development velocity and creativity
- Mentor junior engineers and ensure technical excellence within the integration team.
Activities:
- Integration Development (80%)
- Thoroughly analyze integration viability with product management to carefully shape each integration design
- Collaborate with technology leaders at partner companies to ensure unblocked delivery and effective integration enablement
- Build and maintain new integrations
- Proactively manage technical debt and configuration complexities across integrations.
- Platform Development (10%)
- Build and maintain public API for Flywire Travel Contracts services
- Architect scalable and maintainable internal systems that align with Flywires long-term integration strategy
- Mentorship and teaching (10%)
- Conduct code reviews establish best practices and drive continuous improvement.
12-18 Month Objectives:
- Lead the engineering execution of 10 new integrations
- Successfully rebuild and deploy the unified Salesforce integration significantly reducing complexity and increasing maintainability.
- Lead the launch of Opera v2 integration focused on OHIP leveraging new APIs and aligning with strategic future platform states.
Qualifications :
Heres What Were Looking For:
- 10 years of experience in software development
- Proven engagement with AI development best practices and a viewpoint on their application
- Proven expertise with API design (REST GraphQL) microservices architecture and event-driven systems
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms and related services
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams mentor junior engineers and drive best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with product managers partners and other stakeholders
- Experience architecting and implementing complex integration solutions
- Experience in the travel or FinTech industry is a plus
