The BCTR is seeking to hire a full-time Curriculum Development & Innovation Coordinator to develop and administer a new curriculum in translational research science. A central feature of the BCTRs approach to translational research is partnership with community and the Coordinator will work with college leadership faculty staff and students to strengthen and support opportunities for community-engaged learning within Cornell Human Ecology. The Coordinator will assess impact and recommend improvements to programming and addition the Coordinator will administer the BCTR Scholars Program a community-engaged learning program within the BCTR in which undergraduates develop translational research skills that they apply in summer internship placements with local community organizations. Across these responsibilities the Coordinator will manage partnerships and build collaborations within the college and in external community organizations.

Key Responsibilities include:
Curriculum Development
Coordinate and administratively manage existing and new CEL coursework and programming including: (1) managing grants the college offers to support CEL and Community Engaged Research (CER) efforts and (2) working with departments to ensure viability and alignment of curricula with CEL opportunities.
Work with administration and faculty leadership to develop identify and assess faculty development needs curricula and programming; recommend and implement improvements for increased student success.
Lead and administer the BCTR Scholars program overseeing the relationship with community partners and managing the academic engagement of the undergraduate student participants.
Curriculum Innovation
Lead the development and administration of a new minor in translational research/science.
Write and develop new educational activities and materials; revise existing materials. Develop implement assess and disseminate complex course materials.
Coordinate efforts to attract students to new curricular offerings and community-engaged learning programs.
Curriculum Evaluation
Assess programs analyze data and conduct formative and summative assessment (surveys interviews and focus groups report-writing); recommend and implement improvement to align with mission.
Success in the Curriculum Innovation & Development Coordinator role requires a strategic mindset excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage complex academic programs that span both university and community settings. The ideal candidate brings strong communication and collaboration skills enabling them to build productive relationships with students faculty staff and community partners. Adaptability cultural humility and a commitment to inclusive practices are essential for fostering equitable learning environments and supporting diverse populations. Success in this role also depends on a proactive approach to problem-solving the ability to assess and improve curriculum and programs based on data and a genuine passion for community-engaged and translational research. The Coordinator must demonstrate empathy professionalism and a deep respect for community voices while helping to create impactful learning experiences that bridge academic knowledge and real-world application.
This is a regular on-site full-time benefits eligible position located in Ithaca NY. Our business hours are Monday-Friday 9:00am 5:00pm.
Required Qualifications:
Masters degree and 5 to 7 years relevant experience or equivalent combination
Experience developing curricula and/or student programming.
Ability to assess student learning or program success and make recommendations for program improvement.
Experience working with community partners in academic or research settings.
Ability to manage relationships between multiple constituencies including community organizations.
Demonstrated skill in understanding cultural differences.
Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students faculty staff and community members.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience administering student programs including managing recruitment applications collecting and analyzing program evaluation data.
Knowledge of translational and/or community-engaged research approaches.
Ability to design or facilitate faculty development experiences.
