SUMMARY OF POSITION

Manages Production Planning and Warehouse to ensure employees are engaged in the manufacturing and shipment of quality products in a timely manner. This position is also responsible for compliance with environmental health and safety requirements and manufacturing procedures.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Manages all personnel related actions including training performance appraisal and professional development of the Aurora associates.
  • Manages short-term activities directed toward production continuity and balance for Aurora location: shift schedules ensuring requisition of materials shipping and receiving as well as labor efficiency.
  • Direct and lead inventory controls and management of inventory counts to comply with regional goals.
  • Implement continuous improvement in all processes to optimize efficiency
  • Work with Research and Development along with the Product Management to resolve formulation packaging labeling and logistic issues.
  • Monitor and track relevant Key Performance Indicators including first pass yield on time deliveries and cost of inadequate quality.
  • Champion safety and environmental initiatives and directives. Acts as a working manager to provide backup to production supervisors production planner warehouse supervisor as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS/COMPETENCIES

Key Education or Certification Required

Bachelors degree (B. A. or B.S.) in related technical discipline with experience as a supervisor or in a team lead role preferred. Persons with an education less than a degree must demonstrate 5 years of successful related experience and training.

Must have successful work experience in a manufacturing environment preferably related to manufacturing of chemical products or technical knowledge of manufacturing and equipment.

Required Minimum Number of Years of Relevant Experience

5 years or equivalent training

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Able to manage multiple demands and establish priorities.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Above average communication skills.
  • Familiarity with modern production techniques such as Lean manufacturing KanBan SQC etc. preferred.
  • Ability to calculate percentages fractions conversions and proportions and analyze and evaluate charts and graphs.
  • Understand various business performance indicators such as P&L statements Net Present Value and ROI.
  • Ability to adapt in a demanding and challenging environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work Environment While performing the duties of this job the employee may be exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); work near moving mechanical parts; work in high places; work near exposed electrical equipment; work near fumes airborne particles or chemicals; and outdoor weather conditions.

The noise level in the work environment is moderate within the manufacturing and utility areas.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job the employee may have to stand for extended periods and walk moderate distances daily; routinely required to reach with hands and arms; may be required to stoop kneel or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty-five pounds (25 kilograms).
