Job Summary
Sand Valley is a golf resort and community settled gently upon 12000 acres of rugged pre-historic sand dunes in central Wisconsin. Here residents and guests will find five world-class golf courses built in harmony with the land: Sand Valley Mammoth Dunes The Sandbox The Lido and Sedge Valley. Founded in 2016 by brothers Michael and Chris Keiser the resort is known for its friendly hospitality and a community of golf and outdoor enthusiasts who have been drawn to the raw beauty and serenity of the vast Wisconsin Wilderness. Inspired by the heathland golf courses of London Sand Valley showcases golf as it was meant to be much like the other Dream Golf properties Bandon Dunes and Rodeo Dunes.
Beyond premier golf Sand Valley is a year-round celebration of all the outdoors from fat-tire biking hiking and kayaking to ice hockey skating or a guided cold plunge. Position Summary
- As a Staff Accountant youll play a critical role in supporting Sand Valleys financial operations across multiple areas including general ledger reconciliations income audits and financial reporting. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving thrives in a dynamic hospitality setting and wants to contribute to a mission-driven team. Your attention to detail integrity and collaborative mindset will help ensure financial accuracy and a seamless experience for both our guests and internal teams.
What Youll Do
- Manage daily cash operations including reconciliation of cash drops POS transactions change funds and internal cash banks
- Prepare journal entries and reconcile balance sheet accounts including guest ledger deposit ledgers and gift cards
- Support A/P A/R and payroll functions as needed including invoice processing and vendor coordination
- Administer billing and collection for members and pass-holders
- Assist with monthly and year-end closing activities including preparation of financial statements and variance analyses
- Partner with operations to deliver timely accurate reports that support informed decision-making
- Maintain well-organized records and ensure compliance with internal financial controls
- Support external audit preparation internal control documentation and other ad hoc projects
What Youll Bring
- This is a full-time onsite position based at Sand Valley. Standard hours are Monday through Friday during regular business hours.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field preferred
- 24 years of hands-on accounting experience ideally in hospitality resort or multi-entity environments
- Exposure to A/P A/R and payroll functions is preferred
- Strong Excel skills; familiarity with accounting and payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now is a bonus
- Knowledge of US GAAP and internal control best practices preferred
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive analytical mindset
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative team-first attitude
- Eagerness to learn grow and contribute to a fast-paced environment
