Course Description:

We are seeking a part time instructor to teach SED 2113: Leadership and Communication a 3-unit course designed to develop students abilities as technical leaders in multidisciplinary fields. The course emphasizes personal growth as a leader effective communication project and risk management ethical decision-making and the development of inclusive high-performing teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach undergraduate students in Leadership and Communication (SED 2113) ensuring alignment with the approved course description and learning outcomes.
Deliver engaging lectures class discussions and case studies on:
Foundations of leadership and team dynamics in technical environments.
Project and risk management principles.
Ethical responsibility and societal impact of leadership including sustainability and triple bottom line.
Equity diversity and inclusion in team leadership.
Effective technical communication (oral written and visual).
Create and assess assignments projects and examinations that evaluate both leadership and communication competencies.
Support active learning by mentoring students on individual and group projects.
Stay current with research and professional practices in leadership organizational behavior communication and engineering management.

Requirements:

Required:

  • Masters degree in technology Organizational Leadership Communication Business Administration or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated teaching or professional training experience in leadership communication or project management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred:

  • Ph.D. in leadership technical management or related fields.
  • Industry experience in technology sectors with proven leadership responsibilities.
  • Experience teaching diverse student populations and fostering inclusive learning environments.
  • Familiarity with sustainability ethics in technology practice and the role of diversity in team performance.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Ability to integrate theory with real-world leadership scenarios.
  • Strong facilitation and coaching skills to engage students in active learning.
  • Knowledge of contemporary approaches to equity diversity and inclusion.
  • Proficiency in teaching effective written and oral technical communication.
  • Capability to guide students in applying leadership concepts to technology practice
