Background

The School of Medical Sciences Birmingham Medical School is looking for two part time Clinical Tutors (0.2 FTE) for a fixed term who will contribute to the delivery of the Community Based Medicine (CBM) Clinical Teaching Days. This is an excellent opportunity to join the CBM team and help shape innovation in medical education and inspire the next generation of doctors.

Community Based Medicine is a strand in the MBChB programme where medical students learn about medicine from a General Practice perspective. The majority of the teaching that students receive occurs on placement in General Practices across the West Midlands and beyond. Find out more here: teach and advise undergraduate MBChB students within own subject area and within the MBChB programme supervised by the academic team with ultimate responsibility for the design delivery and assessment of the teaching programme.

These posts have arisen due to an increase in student numbers.

These roles may be particularly attractive to sessional or portfolio GPs or those recently (within 2 years) retired from General Practice.

For these roles the post holder must be available on Fridays in the Academic Year 2025-26 to deliver teaching on-site at the campus of the University of Birmingham. Future work schedules may be subject to change.
