Job Overview
Seeking a licensed Dental Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support in a community health setting. The role includes expanded duties under Florida state regulations four-handed dental techniques radiography sterilization and operatory setup to ensure quality oral healthcare delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Perform expanded duties as certified by the Florida Board of Professional Regulations (e.g. polishing crowns applying topical fluoride placing temporary restorations and sealants removing sutures)
Assist dentists with four-handed dental techniques including instrument passing suctioning and equipment adjustment
Review patient medical histories record vital signs and document clinical information in EagleSoft electronic oral health records
Maintain radiographic certification and operate ScanX phosphoric plates and related software
Properly clean sterilize dental instruments and maintain infection control standards per OSHA
Prepare dental operatory ensuring instruments and equipment are ready before patient arrival
Assist with pediatric dental care (preferred) and communicate effectively with patients and their families
Required Certifications & Qualifications
Florida Dental Radiology Certificate
Florida Dental Expanded Duty Certificate
Current active CPR certification
Valid Florida drivers license and clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
Ability to pass Level 2 background check and drug screening
Minimum 1 year dental assistant experience performing clinical and administrative duties
Proficient use of EagleSoft ScanX and HMS computer systems
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual in English and Spanish (highly preferred)
Experience working with pediatric patients (highly preferred)
Knowledge of OSHA standards and dental infection control
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift at least 10 pounds as needed
