Department / Unit Summary: Our Labor and Delivery (L&D) Unit offers comprehensive obstetrics and gynecology services pediatric care breast health programs and educational classes for new and expecting mothers.
The unit features two HOPE Suite rooms designed for natural births equipped with:
Role Overview How Youll Contribute: As Nurse Manager L&D you will play a vital role in shaping exceptional patient experiences by leading and managing nursing operations in the Labor and Delivery Unit. You will utilize evidence-based practices innovative care strategies and leadership skills to ensure quality patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities: -
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Labor and Delivery unit

Ensure high standards of patient care and compliance with safety protocols
-
Supervise evaluate and develop nursing staff performance
-
Collaborate with physicians interdisciplinary teams and nursing schools to promote best practices
-
Manage staff scheduling workflow and resource allocation
-
Implement strategies for quality improvement and patient satisfaction
-
Support staff education mentoring and professional development
-
Address and resolve operational or clinical challenges promptly
Qualifications & Requirements: -
Current and active RN License in the state of Alabama (or eligibility for licensure)

Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Certification required
-
BLS ACLS and NRP certifications required
-
Minimum 4 years of nursing experience in Labor and Delivery

Previous leadership or charge nurse experience preferred
-
Strong communication problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Work Conditions: This position requires flexibility including working under stressful conditions and during irregular hours as needed.
