Job Description
CD PROJEKT RED is looking for a Lead Systems Designer to help drive the vision and implementation of the gameplay systems for Project Sirius an original video game combining beloved aspects of The Witcher world with immersive multiplayer gameplay.
Reporting to the Design Director you will define implement and maintain the foundational gameplay systems that support the core experience gameplay loop multiplayer play and long-term progression. You will work closely with design leadership narrative programming and art to ensure systems reflect The Witchers thematic identity while also delivering engaging scalable multiplayer experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the vision and execution of systemic features including progression frameworks player economy multiplayer mechanics and world-driven systems.
- Mentor direct and guide a team through iteration balancing and delivery.
- Set design standards and documentation practices for systemic features.
- Define reward structures that are fair in both solo and group play.
- Work with network engineers and producers to align systemic features with online play requirements and scalability.
- Partner with narrative to ensure systems reflect Witcher lore and world-building.
- Work with UI/UX to deliver intuitive immersive and thematically consistent interfaces.
- Collaborate with analytics and QA to evaluate systemic health player behavior and balancing needs.
Qualifications :
- 8 years of professional game design experience with 3 years in system design roles.
- Proven experience designing progression economies or multiplayer systems in shipped titles.
- Prior leadership experience managing or mentoring designers.
Nice to Haves
- Familiarity with the Witcher universe and its thematic systems (alchemy crafting Witcher schools contracts).
- Experience on online multiplayer titles.
- Knowledge of Unreal Engine (UE5) or comparable development environments.
Additional Information :
This job requires working in Boston US.
Working mode: in-office in a hybrid or full-time capacity.
