Job Description

Union: Non-Union
Site: Princess Margaret Hospital
Department: Medical Oncology and Hematology
Reports to: Manager Business Administration 
Work Model: Hybrid
Hours: 37.5 per week
Salary: (To commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy)
Status: Full-Time Temporary (approx. 1 year contract)
Closing Date:  September 5 2025

Position Summary

The Data Quality Coordinator is an essential member of the healthcare and research team. Principle responsibilities include:  Extracting analyzing abstracting data into the PM Cancer Registry which consists on on-line staging and ISIS Registrar; Maintaining security of the registry data; Performing cross-functional and/or other duties consistent with the job classification as assigned or required.

Duties

  • Work on solutions that are patient-centric and data-driven bring value to our stakeholders and achieve UHNs business objectives
  • Analyze business needs problems opportunities and solution scope
  • Perform review of clinical records
  • Retrieve review and interpret cancer information
  • Input and update registry data following established criteria
  • Conduct workflow review and process redesign and support continuous improvement processes
  • Collect and analyze data complete data reporting and apply data visualization techniques
  • Participate in team meetings and audits as required
  • Stage and abstract cancer cases according to the appropriate standards
  • Lead small projects and moderately complex tasks with minimal supervision

Qualifications :

  • Minimum completion of a two (2) year community college program in Health Information Management or recognized equivalent
  • Undergraduate Degree in Health Informatics Computer Science Epidemiology Industrial Engineering Business or related field preferred
  • Minimum two (2) years of business process/analysis and data analysis experience or equivalent
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience with oncology coding and cancer staging with a cancer registry
  • Certified with the National Cancer Registrars Association (preferred)
  • Member of the College of Canadian Health Information Management (CHIMA) and maintain continuing education credits as required by CHIMA
  • Excellent problem definition problem resolution business analysis and systems analysis skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in qualitative and quantitative data analytics data visualization and data reporting
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent prioritization organization skills and flexibility to work in a highly dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Exercise initiative and good judgement with the ability to multi-task
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and also as a contributing team member
  • Proficient use of computer software and peripheral equipment (MS Office suite MS Project MS 
  • Clinical training and experience with electronic patient record systems an asset
  • Familiarity with healthcare information systems interfaces and/or enterprise architecture an asset
