As a Public Health LPN within the West Central Health Districtat the Georgia Department of Public Healthyou will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.
Job Responsibilities
This position will be housed in one of the following county health departments (Crisp Dooly Macon Randolph Stewart or Sumter) and is Not a Remote position. Daily travel is a requirement for this position. Under supervision of the Perinatal Home Visiting Program Coordinator this position will support the Department by utilizing your expertise to fulfill the following responsibilities:- Provide home visitation services to medically diagnosed high-risk pregnant post-partum and inter-conceptual women.
- Works with a team to provide case management services to high-risk perinatal women infants and children through home visitation.
- Completes quarterly reports
- Participates in health fairs and educational programs
- Incorporates strategies for interacting with persons from diverse backgrounds (e.g. cultural socioeconomic educational racial gender age ethnic sexual orientation professional religious affiliation mental and physical capabilities
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and community partners to provide person-centered support to individuals and families.
- Participate in emergency preparedness and response activities.
- Candidate must have a valid unexpired drivers license and reliable transportation
- Travel throughout the districts 16 counties for training and program support as necessary
Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Public Health LPN 2 - (Hire-in salary - $35387.99)
Vocational/Technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college and two (2) years of LPN public health experience and current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse and CPR certification; or one (1) year of experience required at the lower-level PH LPN 1 (HCT110) or position equivalent.Public Health LPN 3 - (Hire-in salary - $38926.79)
Vocational/Technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college and four (4) years of LPN public health experience and current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse and CPR certification; or one (1) year of experience required at the lower-level PH LPN 2 (HCT111) or position equivalent.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: At least four (4) years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse. All West Central Health District 7 employees are deemed essential workers in the event of an emergency. As such you may be called on to participate in an event including but not limited to: staffing a shelter working at a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or working at a Point of Dispensing site (POD). If you are called on to participate you are required to report to the designated site as a condition of employment whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.

The use of physical activity breaks during the workday is authorized to support this philosophy and help employees meet their wellness goals.A maximum of 30 minutes of physical activity may be allocated per workday typically in the form of two 15-minute breaks or one 30-minute break.
