The Production Officer is responsible for overseeing various aspects of the production process including crop census agronomy sample management crop protection fertigation pollination and compliance with regulatory requirements. The role ensures accurate record-keeping adherence to quality standards and seamless coordination with relevant teams.
Key Performance Outputs
- Crop & Agronomy Management: Oversee crop census sampling fertigation records and crop protection documentation.
- Pollination & Bee Management: Track flower counts hive placement and bee hive movements.
- Water & Equipment Oversight: Monitor borehole readings update maintenance checklists and manage housing upkeep records
- Compliance & Record-Keeping: Maintain weather/rainfall data PPE inventory management meeting minutes and SIZA KPI updates.
- Quality & Audits: Ensure Global GAP QMS and health & safety compliance including audits risk assessments and accurate filing of certificates and MSDS.
- Cold-Room Operations: Manage fruit quality stock control FIFO systems dispatch health & safety and maintenance coordination.
Requirements
Qualification / Experience
- Matric and Relevant Business Administration Diploma required
- Minimum 3 years of experience in agricultural production or compliance.
- Knowledge of fertigation crop protection pollination and agronomy sampling preferred.
- Experience with inventory management and cold-room operations is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Teams Netsuite or other farm management systems are beneficial.
Functional / Technical
- Strong organizational and data management skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Knowledge of Global GAP and SIZA compliance.
- Effective communication and coordination skills across teams.
- Ability to analyse reports and maintain accurate record-keeping
- Familiarity with agricultural production systems and farm management.
Minimum 3 years of experience in agricultural production or compliance. Knowledge of fertigation, crop protection, pollination, and agronomy sampling preferred. Experience with inventory management and cold-room operations is an advantage. Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Netsuite, or other farm management systems is beneficial.
