Job Description
- Managing and overseeing the activities of brokers including hiring training and performance management.
- Developing and implementing strategies for the securities business including marketing and sales plans.
- Analyzing market trends and identifying new business opportunities in the securities industry.
- Building relationships with clients and providing expert advice on securities products and services.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards including those related to trading and reporting.
- Managing risk and ensuring that the securities business operates within established risk parameters.
- Monitoring the performance of the securities business and providing regular reports to senior management.
- Maintaining a strong network of industry contacts and staying up-to-date with developments in the securities industry.
- Collaborating with other departments within the company such as legal and compliance to ensure seamless operations.
- Continuously improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the securities business including through the use of technology and automation.
Requirements
- A bachelors degree in finance business economics or a related field is typically required.
- 3-5 years of experience in the securities industry including experience in trading sales or portfolio management.
- Have strong leadership and management skills including the ability to motivate and manage a team of brokers.
- Have strong analytical skills and be able to analyze market trends and identify new business opportunities.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written and be able to build strong relationships with clients and industry contacts.
- Have a deep understanding of securities regulations and compliance requirements.
- Be comfortable working with technology and be able to implement new systems and tools to improve the efficiency of the securities business.
