Job Summary
AHRC New York City is seeking Full and Part-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for their Adult Day Programs in All Five Boroughs.
Pay Rate: $17-$18per hour...plus possible bonuses depending on needs of program. See bonus information addition this position comes with a comprehensive Benefit package. See Benefit information below.
Starting Rate: $17 per hour
After 6 Months: Increases to $18 per hour (if in good standing)
Bonuses (depends on driving status & program needs):
$2000 annually upon completion and passing of AHRC Defensive Driving class
$2000 annually upon completion of AMAP training
Full-time Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30am to 3:30pm.
Part-time schedule: Monday -Friday 8:30am -2:30pm.

Responsibilities:
- Support individuals with disabilities in leading self-directed lives and becoming active members of their communities.
- The oversight of all safety and health considerations
- Promoting skill development interests and hobbies
- Assisting with Adult Daily Living skills (ADLs)
Qualifications :
- Personal and/or Professional experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of Home and Community Based Waiver and the ability to keep up to date pertaining to such knowledge and interpret same.
- Understanding of Person Centered Planning.
- Reasonable flexibility in work hours and ability to respond to the scheduling needs of the individual.
- Ability to establish and maintain a working relationship with program participants families staff and community agencies.
- Ability to communicate both orally and in written form in English.
- High School diploma or GED is required.
