Job Description

Adelphi is seeking Music Therapists to provide Music Therapy Services in a school district in Montgomery County Virginia. The Music Therapist will provide appropriate therapeutic services to students through music-based evaluations observations and consultations.

Requirements:

Bachelor s degree in Music Therapy from an accredited institution (Master s preferred).

Current credential as a Music Therapist-Board Certified (MT-BC) from the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT).

Virginia does not require separate state licensure for music therapists; MT-BC is the recognized qualification.

Experience in a school setting is preferred.

Responsibilities:

Assess referred students through music therapy evaluations and appropriate diagnostic practices.

Develop and implement individualized music therapy plans based on student needs.

Collaborate with teachers parents and related service providers to support student progress.

Participate in student support meetings and contribute to the development of Individualized Education Plans (IEP).

Maintain accurate and timely documentation including progress notes and eligibility reports.

Maintain positive professional relationships with students parents staff and the public.

Other duties as assigned.
