Job Description

Our client an Am 100 law firm has an immediate opening in their Chicago office for a Commercial Litigation Associate with three to five years of experience preferred. The candidate will work primarily with attorneys in the Financial Services & Capital Markets Strategic Business Unit.

The ideal candidate will have experience with all phases of complex commercial litigation including but not limited to experience conducting factual investigations and discovery preparing pleadings taking depositions arguing motions participating in mediation and communicating with clients. Experience in both state and federal court is preferred and experience in administrative matters and arbitrations is beneficial. Second-chair experience at trial or arbitration is preferred but not required.

The candidate must have an excellent academic record superb writing skills strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with a team superior judgment the ability to effectively handle multiple projects and the ability to articulate legal strategies and courses of action. Judicial clerkship experience with a federal court is preferred but not required. Candidates must have an Illinois bar license or commit to obtaining one as soon as possible.
