Job Description
- Database Support: Assist in monitoring and maintaining databases to ensure high availability and performance.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve basic database issues escalating complex problems to senior administrators.
- Backup & Recovery: Support data backup and recovery processes to safeguard data integrity.
- System Updates: Assist in installing and testing database updates and patches.
- Documentation: Maintain records of database configurations updates and troubleshooting activities.
- Security Assistance: Help implement basic security measures such as managing user access controls and monitoring for unauthorized activities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with developers and system administrators to support database integration with immigration software platforms.
Requirements
- Diploma or associate degree in Computer Science Information Systems or a related field.
- 1 2 years of experience in database support or administration (internship experience is acceptable).
- Familiarity with database technologies such as MySQL PostgreSQL or Microsoft SQL Server.
- Basic understanding of database programming languages (e.g. SQL).
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new database technologies.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Basic knowledge of database management tools and software.
- Fluency in both English and Kiswahili (spoken and written).
- Previous experience in the aviation industry is a plus.
- Tanzanian national only.
