Job Description

The Group Lead - Environment New Zealand is a national role that can be based in Auckland Hamilton Wellington or Christchurch. Youll play a key part in shaping the NZ Environment business strategy driving growth performance and market influence while enhancing our industry profile.

In this role your inspiring and collaborative approach will bring teams together across all NZ regions and disciplines connecting our local business with the wider ANZ Environment practices. Youll communicate priorities clearly nurture high-performing teams and support the development and retention of key talent through encouragement mentorship and engagement.

Youll also champion business development efforts by building strong client relationships spotting new opportunities staying connected to local markets and preparing high-quality bids alongside Team Leads. On top of this youll coordinate workloads and resources working closely across teams business lines and ANZ regions to deliver exceptional services.

How youll make a difference

  • Drive the NZ Environment business strategy and implement initiatives to achieve growth and performance metrics.
  • Lead business development; from building client relationships to preparing high-quality bids and identifying/capturing opportunities to position AECOM as a market leader.
  • Provide technical guidance and harness the expertise of your teams to deliver solutions that differentiate AECOM in the marketplace; ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards of quality safety and innovation.
  • Manage workload and resource coordination across teams and regions strengthening collaboration and knowledge sharing across NZ Australia and globally.
  • Cultivate an environment that nurtures growth technical excellence and career development.

  • Degree qualified in an environment related field with extensive leadership experience in environmental consulting and managing complex projects.
  • Proven record in business strategy growth delivery and building high-performing teams.
  • Strong client development skills and experience leading complex pursuits and bids.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage resources across multiple regions and disciplines.
  • Recognised technical specialist in your field able to provide guidance direction and thought leadership.
  • Exceptional communicator and collaborator with the ability to inspire engage and influence at all levels.
