Our client is a boutique interior design firm specializing in high-end commercial and hospitality projects for leading global clients. They are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Financial Controller to join their team to oversee and optimize financial operations with accuracy and compliance with the law.
ROLE OVERVIEW :
The Financial Controller is tasked with overseeing all financial aspects of the business ensuring accuracy compliance and strategic financial planning. This role requires an innovative and detail-oriented professional who can maintain tight control over financial operations while identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement financial guidelines and strategies that align with the company s goals and objectives.
- Accurately dissect and analyze quantitative information on the financial position liquidity and cash flows of the business.
- Lead the budgeting process and provide accurate financial forecasts to support decision making.
- Prepare and present detailed financial reports including income statements balance sheets and cash flow statements with a focus on accuracy and clarity.
- Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure the company s financial stability and sustainability.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls while identifying and mitigating potential financial risks.
- Oversight function on accounts payable accounts receivable payroll and reconciliations
- ensuring all records are precise and up-to-date.
- Work with all departments to monitor project budgets control costs and optimize resource allocation.
- Drive innovation by identifying inefficiencies and implementing streamlined financial systems and processes.
- Lead and mentor the finance team fostering a culture of accountability innovation and excellence.
- Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to senior management to support long-term strategic planning.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Experience & Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelor s Degree in Accounting Finance or a related field is required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Lead Financial/Accounting role preferably in the design architecture or construction industries.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software like QuickBooks
- Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
- Full ICAN/ACCA/Other Relevant Certification is mandatory.
- Prior experience setting up the Finance function from scratch is mandatory.
- Thorough knowledge of strategy tax and other accounting procedures and a sound judgment.
