The Road Design Intern works across a wide range of sustainable infrastructure projects for tomorrow within teams of international and national experts. The person is expected to have a good understanding of road design and infrastructure projects and analytical tools used for planning processes (CAD GIS Excel modelling) etc. Curious and technical he/she will cover the tasks described below at certain levels of depth adapted to existing and developing capabilities.
- As road design intern: you will support conceptual designs and construction plans using road design software. You will also generate engineering designs that include highway and road geometry drainage design (hydrology and hydraulics) and construction engineering and inspection responsibilities. Furthermore experience in the collection of traffic and highway field data and proficiency in using design software such as Civil3D QGIS and related design and office software are integral to the position as you assist with the completion of road design reports roadway safety studies and various infrastructure projects.
- Data collection support: Support the collection of primaries (survey definition and monitoring support) and secondary (literature reviews and stakeholder interviews) data to assemble comprehensive and labelled datasets; Support the cleaning and consolidation of data aligned with the needs of senior engineering teams; Be responsible for the management and documentation of given datasets.
- Mapping support: Support Senior Road Specialist in preparing maps for existing topography survey from various resources; Support in mapping current and future land use; Apply existing template and practices in mapping as necessary.
- Reports and presentations: Contribute to the preparation of redacted reports (Word) and presentation slides (PowerPoint) as required to document the methods and results of the previous tasks; Support the preparation and delivery of presentation including documenting meetings and recording minutes of meetings as necessary.
- Regular reporting: Report on all tasks to direct line manager as often as required; Be sensitized on ethical and performance practices and document any potential issue to line manager; Communicate actively with line manager and peers as necessary for the completion of tasks.
Qualifications :
- Master from a reputable university in transport engineering or related fields.
- Communication and presentation skills (verbal written)
- Ease with all regular office software (Excel Word Powerpoint) is required
- Familiarity with Road design software: AutoCAD Civil3D QGIS is desirable
- A responsible and accountable individual with a positive attitude
- An organized individual with attention to detail
- Strong level of English to be used in an international work environment plus Indonesian language.
