Four years of social services experience; OR
Six years of full-time work experience plus one year of social services experience; OR
A bachelors degree plus one year of social services experience; OR
A masters degree in social work a social science education counseling or vocational rehabilitation.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
Conduct intake investigations and assessments of complex adult abuse neglect self-neglect exploitation or extortion cases involving individuals with physical mental developmental or age-related disabilities in community or licensed settings.
Assess clients living environments mental and functional capacities and risk of harm coordinating crisis interventions such as protective custody or removal of perpetrators to ensure immediate safety.
Gather information through interviews record reviews and observations; determine the validity of allegations using specialized training and make informed decisions regarding needed services.
Develop implement and monitor individualized service plans in collaboration with agencies and providers to reduce risk and stabilize the clients situation advocating for necessary supports and benefits.
Collaborate with law enforcement legal professionals and agency staff to refer cases assist with criminal and civil legal actions prepare court documents and testify as required.
Maintain confidential case files and records prepare detailed reports participate in training and community education and provide guidance to less experienced staff.
