This is a great opportunity to play a key role in promoting and protecting the reputation of Manat Taonga Ministry for Culture and Heritage the governments adviser on the arts culture and heritage sectors of Aotearoa New Zealand.

Youll shape how our work is communicated internally and across our broad sector. Youll collaborate with the communications team; project leads and Executive Leadership Team to develop and implement engaging communication strategies.

You will have proven experience in internal external and digital communications and engagement. You will be comfortable working with ambiguity and have the confidence to provide senior leaders with high quality communications and engagement advice.

In this role youll build effective stakeholder relationships within the Ministry and across the public and cultural sector. Youll be a key contributor to a high performing and cohesive team with a positive team culture. You will thrive in environments where things change quickly and enjoy the challenge of juggling multiple priorities and tight deadlines.

A keen storyteller with a strategic mindset youll have a collaborative spirit and a genuine passion for connecting people. Youll also bring an understanding of Te Ao Mori or a willingness to learn and wont hesitate to roll up your sleeves to get the mahi done.

We are after someone who:

  • Has experience in developing communication plans and reactive and proactive communications
  • Is a confident writer who knows how to make messages clear and relatable.
  • Has a collaborative mindset and ability to easily build relationships across teams
  • Is comfortable with a range of channels including digital communications and working with media
  • Understands the big picture while managing the details
