Job Description Summary
As a member of the Nationwide Ventures team youll have the opportunity to improve build and manage our portfolio including all elements of financial analysis and reporting. Youll lead and automate where possible the quarterly portfolio valuation process and provide feedback to the investment team as a counterpart with portfolio level insights strategy and capital balancing. Key Responsibilities:
Manages and enhances Venture portfolio performance analytics modeling and reporting. Partners with investment team from point of investment to exit to prepare discussion points on portfolio key performance indicators financial performance and portfolio construction. Performs other ad hoc risk/return analysis as needed to support Venture portfolio decision-making driving toward risk optimization.
Owns valuation process from point of investment to exit and presents quarterly analysis to Chief Investment Officer Chief Strategy Officer Corp Dev Officer Investments Operations Finance Controllership and Risk. Collects and analyzes quarterly portfolio information to prepare quarterly valuation processes including some ad-hoc reports. Utilizes and optimizes Carta platform to prepare and execute valuation.
Owns the organization of funding packages for venture deal closing. Leads the coordination and management of wiring legal and adjacent teams to settle transactions in relevant reporting systems. Manages timelines for quarterly reporting to stakeholders. Builds and manages presentations for business unit partners.
Prepares tracks and optimizes budgets for Ventures inclusive of vendors travel conferences networking events co-sponsored events and more. Collaborates with financial partners on monthly expense tracking and budget forecasts.
Leads automation process simplification and next generation process changes using technology for portfolio and financial reporting.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to AVP Sr Investment Professional.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate degree in business administration accounting finance or other relevant academic subject areas preferred.
License/Certification/Designation: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred but not required.
Experience: Typically ten or more years of experience in financial management analysis investment accounting or equivalent experience.
Knowledge Abilities and Skills: Knowledge of financial/statistical analysis accounting and/or business operating systems. Project management concepts and techniques. Ability to analyze financial or statistical results and trends and interpret complex financial reporting requirements. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to communicate professionally with investment team and business partners. Ability to interpret changes in financial reporting. Decision-making skills for problem identification and appropriate solution recommendation. Ability to operate and maintain efficient financial information networks systems and software.
Other criteria including leadership skills competencies and experiences may take precedence.
