This role puts you at the center of protecting public health by supporting the state-wide technical engineering efforts of the Drinking Water Revolving Loan Fund (DWRLF) while also sharing responsibilities in Capacity Development and Public Water System Supervision.

Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a current Louisiana Engineer Intern Certificate.
NOTE:
Applications will be accepted from persons who possess a current Engineer Intern Certificate in states other than Louisiana. However the applicant will be required to obtain a Louisiana Engineer Intern Certificate prior to appointment. The hiring agency will verify that all requirements are met.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
- Serves as the DWRLF project engineer for DWRLF construction loan drinking water improvement projects across the State.
- Performs routine on-site construction inspections.
- Performs independent engineering agency reviews and approvals of routinely submitted bid documents contract documents payment requests and engineering contracts.
- Performs engineering review and evaluation of System Improvement Plans and Environmental Information Documents submitted by water systems.
- Performs technical reviews of federal and state funding requirements.
- Assists the DWRLF Program Engineer and/or Deputy Chief Engineer with updating the strategies and goals of the Louisiana Department of Healths Capacity Development Program.
- Performs emergency response duties as directed.

Compensation:This position is eligible for the following Special Entrance Rates (SER):
Engineer Intern 1 - $26.44 hourly $2115.20 bi-weekly
Engineer Intern 2 - $28.29 hourly $2263.20bi-weekly
Engineer 3 $33.39 hourly $2671.20bi-weekly
Engineer 4- $36.90 hourly $2952.00 bi-weekly
Engineer 5- $39.48 hourly $3158.40 bi-weekly
