Make a Difference

The Behavioral Support Clinician (BSC) monitors and provides care coordination and life skills training and development in collaboration with the care team to youth with mental health and/or substance use disorders including those with serious and persistent mental illness and chronic addiction. The IMPACT program at Lutherwood provides comprehensive residential services for teens with a history of commercial sexual exploitation and/or human trafficking. Clinical services are trauma-informed and strengths-based using best practice service standards. A multidisciplinary team provides the following services: individual therapy family therapy group therapy individual and group life skills development case management education and credit recovery medication management. Clinicians work with internal and external stakeholders including the Department of Child Services and juvenile probation.

Exceptional Skills and Qualifications

Applicants for this position should be able to collaborate with others in a team setting have excellent communication skills and a positive attitude toward problem-solving.

  • Care team: Collaborates as part of a multidisciplinary care team member. May assist with gathering data for comprehensive psychosocial assessments. Able to deescalate clients displaying aggressive behaviors. Documents services provided in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) based on policies and procedures. When necessary will transport clients in personal vehicles.
  • Department Accountabilities: Complies with all applicable Behavioral Health Care Service policies and procedures. Actively involved in professional development and education including mandatory training. Completes time cards PTO requests mileage reports and other documentation per Community Behavioral Health policies and procedures.
  • Individuals may not perform all of these duties or may perform additional related duties not listed here.
  • Bachelors Degree required in mental health or related field (Required)
  • Current Indiana Drivers License (Required)
  • Two (2) years of social service experience in a volunteer or paid role (Preferred)
