Job Summary

We are looking for an Unreal Engine Developer for our internal studio Bad Pixel to develop a hardcore multiplayer survival first-person shooter in a unique setting.

Deadside on Steam

Deadside is an open-world shooter that combines PvP and PvE elements. It is available on PC and consoles. We are currently expanding the team to speed up development and deliver updates faster.

About the role
We are looking for a skilled Unreal Engine Developer to join the Deadside team and focus on developing and supporting modding tools. Your work will directly impact how the community creates and integrates custom content into the game. This is a role at the intersection of engine development and community-focused tooling.

We are ready to consider only candidates from the CET time zone (/- 2 hours).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain modding tools based on UE4.

  • Integrate mods into the main game build and ensure compatibility.

  • Optimize performance when using community-made mods.

  • Create documentation and guides for modders.

  • Collaborate with designers and QA to test and integrate mods.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience with Unreal Engine 4.

  • Strong knowledge of C and Blueprint.

  • Good understanding of UE4s architecture

  • Hands-on experience developing mods.

  • Understanding of multiplayer architecture (replication networking).

  • Experience integrating or creating modding tools (Steam Workshop SDKs UE plugins).

Nice to have

  • Experience working on survival/PvP projects.

  • Knowledge of working with game content (models animations UI).

  • Ability to write clear technical documentation.
