Job Description
Position: Fettling Department Head
Our client a leading foundry and casting manufacturing company is seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to lead their Fettling Department. As the Fettling Head you will be responsible for overseeing all fettling and finishing operations at our clients manufacturing facility in Bhilai.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize fettling and finishing processes ensuring high-quality end products and efficient production
- Lead and manage a team of fettling technicians and operators providing guidance and training as needed
- Monitor and track department performance identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions
- Collaborate with other department heads to ensure smooth and timely production flow and to address any cross-departmental issues
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment adhering to all safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety within the department
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in fettling and finishing techniques and implement best practices to enhance department performance
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in fettling and finishing operations preferably in the rail or heavy engineering industry
- Proven track record of successfully leading and managing a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of fettling and finishing processes equipment and tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is preferred
