About the role

Looking for a role where no two days are the same As a Community Supports Officer with ATSICHS Brisbane you wont just be providing disability or elder support -- youll be making a real difference in peoples lives. This is a role where you can bring your personality skills and passion to work every day. Whether its assisting with lawn maintenance taking clients shopping sharing a yarn over the phone or simply watching television your impact will be felt in small but powerful ways. Youll also help facilitate group outings and provide essential support to our Elders people with disabilities NDIS participants and Commonwealth Home Support Scheme clients.

What Youll Do

  • Want to make a real difference in the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members Youll provide culturally safe and person-centred support that respects and uplifts our clients.
  • Enjoy helping people with everyday tasks Youll assist clients with shopping social outings and household chores to help them maintain their independence.
  • Like being hands-on Youll support clients with lawn maintenance and other practical needs to ensure they feel comfortable in their homes.
  • Love bringing people together Youll facilitate group outings and activities that promote social connection and community engagement.
  • Keen to build meaningful relationships Youll have yarns with clients offer companionship and be a trusted presence in their lives.
  • Passionate about empowering others Youll encourage choice control and independence helping clients live life on their own terms.

Benefits

  • $35.39 to $37.97 base hourly rate casual loading (plus 12% super).

Skills And Experiences

  • What Were Looking For:
  • A passion for supporting our mob and making a positive impact.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships.
  • Adaptability and a willingness to support clients in various ways.
  • A valid drivers licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Availability to travel across the Logan and/or Brisbane region.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
  • Australian Federal Police Check.
  • Working with Childrens Card (Blue Card) or eligibility to apply.
  • NDIS Worker Screening (Yellow Card) or eligibility to apply.

Preferred

  • Relevant qualifications such as a Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent.
  • Experience in a similar support worker or care-giving role.
  • Previous experience working with people with disabilities.
  • Flexibility to work outside core business hours to meet individual client needs.
