Were looking for one full-time Licensed Practical Nurses to join our Acute Treatment Unit Team at 1302 Chinook Lane Pueblo Colorado.

What Youll Be Doing

As an LPN you would be providing high quality care to patients with behavioral health disorders with the utmost care and compassion under the supervision of the Remote or On-call RN. Your workday would be filled with a variety of engaging responsibilities involving clinical and administrative duties. Youd also have the distinct opportunity to work closely with a multidisciplinary team of Health Solutions professionals integrating culturally sensitive care to our clients in our inpatient setting.

RESPONSIBILITIES: As an LPN under the supervision of the ATU Nursing Supervisor.

Specifically the LPN will

  • Administrative duties:
  • Answers phone calls professionally
  • Performs patient check-in and -out efficiently and respectfully
  • Maintains and stocks appropriate supplies
  • Obtains prior authorizations for medications if needed
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date records with 100 percent compliance with Health Solutions standards
  • Maintains respect for privacy by adhering to confidentiality in all phases of work
  • Adheres to the spirit of our mission statement
  • Maintains competency and proficiency with the electronic health records
  • Applies understanding of behavioral health disorders to support the treatment team and assure the highest quality care to our patients
  • Creates a positive and compassionate interaction with patients
  • Supports the successful recovery of patients endeavoring to improve the quality of their lives
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned by a supervisor/director

Clinical duties:

  • Assists our medical staff in patient education and performs patient evaluation with the review and assistance of Remote RN or ON-Call RN.
  • May assist with coordinating referral for admission to higher level of care if appropriate and treatment team consulted.
  • Assess and treats psychiatric and medical emergencies and triages appropriately and reports to Remote or On-call RN during shift.
  • Administer medications and document accurately and timely in EMAR.
  • Administers medication injections (IM and SC)
  • Assist with maintaining a safe therapeutic environment by observation and assessment of the milieu and reports to Remote RN / ON-Call RN or Nursing Supervisor.
  • Stocks supplies as needed.
  • Perform monitor and manage bio-psychosocial interventions and overall treatment that included medication administration obtaining vital signs and other medical care as needed with consultation from Remote RN or On-call RN.
  • Takes health history and obtains laboratory samples
  • Maintains a safe and sanitary environment for clients

Integration and team participation:

  • Works with other team members in the integration setting and follows universal precautions to protect self and patients
  • Functions sensitively to cultural differences and works with patients from diverse racial ethnic educational and socio-economic backgrounds and with varying sexual orientation and gender identities.
  • Maintains highly effective and collaborative communication with remote and on-call treatment team members.
  • Physical requirements:
    • Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination
    • Standing and walking for prolonged periods of time
    • Lifts and carries items up to 50lbs.
    • Normal hearing and visual acuity including recording data electronically and communicating with patients
    • Exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids
    • Stress in emergency situations or irregular hours

Qualifications

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license from an accredited program
  • Computer proficiency
  • Skilled in electronic medical records
  • Basic Life Support Certificate
  • Successful track record in a fast-paced work environment

  • Two years of medical office/healthcare experience
  • Spanish language skills
  • Colorado drivers license and good driving record
