Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Civil Design Engineer with strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other design tools to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in land development projects with a solid background in stormwater management stormwater drainage and erosion and sediment control including hydrology and hydraulics (H&H) analysis.

Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Design and prepare site development plans using Civil 3D including grading utility layouts and stormwater systems.
    • Develop stormwater management and drainage designs in compliance with local state and federal regulations.
    • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and calculations for stormwater conveyance systems.
    • Create and review erosion and sediment control plans.
    • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines clients and permitting agencies.
    • Assist with preparing construction documents specifications cost estimates and permitting submittals.
    • Conduct site assessments and collaborate with field teams as needed.
    • Support project managers in delivering quality design documents on time and within budget.

Required Skills:

    • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
    • PE or EIT License preferred
    • Prefer at least EIT and 3 yrs of Civil Land Development experience
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.
    • Experience with stormwater modeling software such as HydroCAD StormCAD HEC-RAS or similar.
    • Strong understanding of local stormwater and environmental regulations.
    • Familiarity with GIS MicroStation or other design and mapping tools.
    • Experience working with public and private sector land development clients.
    • Knowledge of permitting processes and jurisdictional requirements Especially within Northern Virginia
