Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Civil Design Engineer with strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other design tools to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in land development projects with a solid background in stormwater management stormwater drainage and erosion and sediment control including hydrology and hydraulics (H&H) analysis.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Design and prepare site development plans using Civil 3D including grading utility layouts and stormwater systems.
- Develop stormwater management and drainage designs in compliance with local state and federal regulations.
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and calculations for stormwater conveyance systems.
- Create and review erosion and sediment control plans.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines clients and permitting agencies.
- Assist with preparing construction documents specifications cost estimates and permitting submittals.
- Conduct site assessments and collaborate with field teams as needed.
- Support project managers in delivering quality design documents on time and within budget.
Required Skills:
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- PE or EIT License preferred
- Prefer at least EIT and 3 yrs of Civil Land Development experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.
- Experience with stormwater modeling software such as HydroCAD StormCAD HEC-RAS or similar.
- Strong understanding of local stormwater and environmental regulations.
- Familiarity with GIS MicroStation or other design and mapping tools.
- Experience working with public and private sector land development clients.
- Knowledge of permitting processes and jurisdictional requirements Especially within Northern Virginia
