The role

The Department of Planning Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI) is offering an exciting opportunity for a talented and driven Principal Developer Salesforce to join our Corporate Services team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about delivering high-impact digital solutions. As a hands-on developer and technical leader you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing complex applications that support strategic business outcomes and improve service delivery across NSW.

You will lead technical consulting guide agile and DevOps practices and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable high-quality software. Collaborating with stakeholders across the department you will contribute to solution design implementation and ongoing support helping to shape the future of digital service delivery in NSW.

What you will bring to the role

  • Proven ability to balance competing priorities and deliver complex development projects effectively.
  • Strong decision-making and accountability for delivering high-quality outcomes within agreed timeframes.
  • Advanced self-management skills with a commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Demonstrated experience in customer-focused service delivery and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on innovation and user experience.
  • Advanced understanding of emerging technologies and their application to business strategies.
  • Experience in project coordination systems integration and application support with a focus on performance and quality.

Essential requirements

  • Experience in system analysis and design including in requirements gathering and documenting functional requirements understanding business requirements/process.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in languages and tools relevant for the specific role:
  • PHP Java and Web Services
  • Strong MS-SQL database and TSQL knowledge skills and experience including performance tuning of SQL queries both implicit and EF generated
  • Apex Apex Classes Apex Triggers and Communities
  • Aura LWC and Custom Lightning Components
  • Bitbucket ANT GearSet
  • Azure DevOps Jira Confluence
  • Data Visualisation Tooling (PowerBI QlikView etc)
