POSITION TITLE: Food Service Equipment Technician
FLSA: Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Director of Child Nutrition
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 240Days and benefits will be specified in the employee contract. Contract will be prorated based on the actual start date.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid Arkansas drivers license required.
- Universal EPA Certification for refrigerants.
- Five or more years experience in the commercial food service (kitchen) equipment and refrigeration maintenance field preferred.
- Knowledge of commercial food service (kitchen) equipment repairs maintenance and installation techniques.
- Knowledge of the operation of electrical control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints diagrams schematics and written reference material.
- Ability to operate a computer and assigned software.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve problems.
- Ability to use hand and power tools.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Diagnose and repair malfunctions in various types of food service (kitchen) and refrigeration systems.
- Install new food service (kitchen) and refrigeration equipment and systems when required.
- Relocate and expand existing food service (kitchen) and refrigeration systems as required.
- Repair replace or calibrate controls thermostats switches fuses and electrical wiring.
- Fabricate assemble and install electrical wiring controls and piping according to specifications and code.
- Wire and connect motors compressors temperature controls and humidity controls according to wiring schematics.
- Maintain freon dispensing records to meet federal requirements.
- Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and procedures for all food service (kitchen) and refrigeration equipment including changing of filters and cleaning condensers and coils.
- Perform all scheduled preventive maintenance and cleaning on all food service (kitchen) and refrigeration equipment as needed.
- Receive and complete work orders.
- Detect needed repairs on equipment following established inspection procedures.
- Respond to emergency calls as needed.
- Maintains prompt and regular attendance and demonstrates the ability to maintain positive professional working relationships with others
- Maintain emotional control under stress.
- Maintains prompt and regular attendance
- Perform other duties as assigned

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
- Must have the ability to lift at least 75 pounds occasionally.
