Job Description

Description of Work

Position is funded in part through federal funds.


Position develops coordinates and delivers training to support the Divisions strategic plan for improving services and outcomes for individuals with disabilities. TheRehabilitation Education Specialist ensures staff stay current with evolving rehabilitation practices federal and state requirements policies procedures and technology. Serving both the western region and statewide this role is integral to regional operations participates in the Western Regional Management Team and collaborates with the Professional Development and Training Section.

Job responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Plans coordinates and implements organizational development and training projects based on organizational needs and directives
  • Designs and develops effective training programs presentations curricula and materials
  • Delivers training based on identified learning needs and styles using a variety of methods and modalities including instructor led training in-person and virtually
  • Coordinates and manages on-site and virtual training participation and attendance
  • Implements effective training program administration for securing locations materials equipment ADA accommodations travel & conference authorizations communication LMS functions for roster management and attendance verification CRC credit and evaluation
  • Facilitates communication and collaboration between universities students seeking internships and offices in the Western Region
  • Must be able to travel (including overnights) several days per month

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Masters degree in Rehabilitation Counseling Counseling Vocational Evaluation Curriculum Design and Development Adult Education Organizational Development or closely related field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in rehabilitation counseling vocational evaluation educational program development;
OR
an equivalent combination of education and experience.
