Hours:Monday - Friday 7:30am - 1:30pm (6 hours per day)
Responsibilities:
- Serves as lead cook/chef on the main meal daily & with assistance by one rotating cafeteria worker
- Overseeing vending operations
- Food safety HACCP records and training in collaboration with the high school manager
- Remains in the kitchen to batch cook items during service while monitoring the flow of food.
- Supervise and oversee catering with direct oversight of catering coordinator
- Review catering requests and assess for production
- Communicate with delivery person about catering deliveries daily
- Oversee preparation for catering jobs
- Catering menu ordering & inventory management
- Supervise and oversee the adult meals lunch program
- Monitor adult meal orders/ accounts/charges
- Quality assurance
Qualifications:
- Two years culinary school or two years Associate Degree in Food Service Management
- Two years Food Service Management experience
- Ability to lead others
- Excellent communication skills
- Adept at food preparation and presentation
- Develop standardized recipes
- Ability to adapt to current food trends cooking methods systems as a means of meeting nutrition services/students/parents expectations
- Must work full shift on early release days
- Ability to assume management responsibilities
- Assist in menu planning and development
- Checking in food and supply deliveries
- Proficiency in Google Suite using Google Forms and other web-based applications
- Two years culinary school or two years Associate Degree in Food Service Management is preferred
Reports to:High School Kitchen Manager
Working Conditions:
- Ability to work on feet all day in a non-air-conditioned kitchen.
- Need to keep hair restrained and wear vinyl or plastic gloves while handling food.
