Job Summary
We are seeking a Supply Chain Analyst who will be responsible for processing job requisitions and provide support for supply chain sourcing cost price analyses and contract/purchase order generation. Our Electric Power business focuses on designing and manufacturing custom Power Solutions. With our continued growth our Griffin based Supply chain manages planning and supply to both our own manufacturing operations and those of our solution package suppliers. This creates a highly interconnected supply network spanning multiple business units across North America.
What You Will Do
Working with master planners on outsourcing needs; establishing blanket Purchase Orders and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI).
Identifies and leads initiatives to improve the supply-chain process.
Supporting customers and leading customer proposal efforts with pricing information and supplier selection.
Accountable for maintaining supply chain application systems.
Degree Requirement
Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in Purchasing & Supply Chain desired.
What You Will Have
Procurement:
Level Extensive Experience
Knowledge of buying and procurement; ability to work with organizational strategies and practices and use tools for buying goods supplies equipment and services needed to conduct business.
Monitors effectiveness of procurement policies in high-cost or critical path purchases.
Selects appropriate qualified suppliers and negotiates related contracts.
Compares and contrasts alternative sourcing strategies (sole sourcing reverse auctions etc.).
Develops alternative sources of supply for the manufacturing organization.
Assists in creating contingency plans for and with critical suppliers.
Coordinates the procurement of a variety of products materials and services.
Supply Chain Management - MFG:
Level Extensive Experience
Knowledge of functions principles and techniques used in supply chain management. Advises others on capacity issues at various points in the supply chain.
Quantifies and evaluates benefits and risks of various supply chain strategies and approaches.
Participates in joint planning process design/redesign with clients and partners.
Project Management:
Level Extensive Experience
Utilizes preferred tools techniques and methods for estimating project cost and time.
Identifies risks and vulnerabilities; creates contingency plans.
Communicates reporting requirements; creates monitoring and control mechanisms.
Logistics Management:
Level Working Knowledge
Knowledge of logistics and management; ability to follow proper processes and run operations for effective and efficient movement of materials and finished products.
Assists in the development of process flows to track lead time by activity.
Uses tools with guidance to forecast delivery times determine costs and assess performance.
Business Process Improvement:
Level Extensive Experience
Analyzes business processes identifies alternative solutions to outdated processes and assesses their feasibility.
Participates in defining organizational strategic goals and purposes; defines how to gather and keep customers.
Analytical Thinking:
Level Extensive Experience
Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis.
Organizes and prioritizes the sequence of steps to be taken to remedy the situation.
Identifies many possible causes for a problem based on prior experience and current research.
Quantifies the costs benefits risks and chances for success before recommending a course of action.
Approaches a complex problem by breaking it down into its component parts.
What Will Put You Ahead:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in Purchasing & Supply Chain desired.
Proven experience in Material planning logic and planning within a manufacturing environment.
Working knowledge of SAP fundamentals.
Proficient in Data and Reporting Tools (Excel Power BI).
Expertise in inventory planning strategies including analysis and design.
Additional Information:
This position requires the candidate to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.
Travel up to 10% is possible.
Relocation is NOT available for this role.

$87480.00 - $131280.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors job level market locationjob-related knowledge skills individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
